Preferably you should get to the
"Flims Gorge Cache" by kayak (or raft, for those who are afraid of ‘real whitewater’). Also known as the "Swiss Grand Canyon". Big water with a few nice play spots but generally easy paddling in immense surrounding. A unique shuttle in a world-famous train makes this a must for rail enthusiasts too. The entire run is a class II with the exception of the so-called "Black Hole", which could be classified a nice class III, but has a chicken-run on the right hand side.

And here (N49deg46.50 – E09deg12.23) is where you should launch your kayak. There is plenty of parking. You (and your kayak) could even get there by means of a spectacular train journey. Definitely worth it. Even if you're not into whitewater paddling/rafting you might still ask one of the local rafting companies to arrange a trip down the river to the geocache. I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience.

Current weather:

Easy swells lead in to and through the gorge, and the almost white cliffs form bizarre erosion pinnacles showning the effect of water, wind and weather since the retreat of the Alpine glaciers.

The run is not too difficult and perfect for less experienced WW paddlers or as a warm-up before more difficult areas such as Engadine, just over the Julier Pass to the south.

Getting to the geocache is not too difficult and it will be easy to find once you’re there. But getting there is the trick, so use a kayak or raft. If you’re really adventurous you could try to get there climbing or perhaps using a mountain bike and then swimming across ;-))
